What do I need to do if I want to license the synchronisation rights for commercial content on UGC platforms myself?

The new scheme enables rightsholders to license the synchronisation rights for commercial contents themselves, and to have GEMA manage them for non-commercial contents.  Pursuant to Article 1 i (4) paragraph 2 of the Deed of Assignment, rightsholders have the option to revoke the synchronisation rights for commercial UGC contents with regards to each individual platform (“opt out”). A general revocation or withdrawal of rights for all UGC platforms is also possible. GEMA may, at the same time, collectively license the synchronisation rights for non-commercial contents in the course of the new scheme.
