GEMA is pleased to announce that Dr Jörn Radloff is Head of Rightsholder Management at ICE Services Ltd. – a division of the joint venture ICE founded by the three collection societies GEMA (Germany), PRS (UK) and STIM (Sweden). Radloff’s main responsibilities will be to further develop ICE’s rights and repertoire management system and strategically build up its database of international repertoires.
Prior to his new position, Radloff, who holds a doctorate in law, headed the Department of Rights Management and Online Repertoire during the project phase of the joint venture. He started his career at GEMA on 1 February 2013 as a legal consultant and repertoire manager in the Broadcasting and Online Department. Before joining GEMA, Radloff worked as a lawyer and advisor with an international law and strategy consulting firm in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Rotterdam. Dr Harald Heker, CEO GEMA, said: “We’re pleased that Dr Radloff will join ICE right at the core where I know his experience will be very valuable. During the joint venture’s project phase he already took responsibility for defining and structuring the pan-European rights management system and cross-border licensing. We are delighted that he is now in charge of the further development of ICE’s rights management system.” GEMA
In Germany, GEMA represents the copyrights of around 70,000 members (composers, lyricists and music publishers), as well as over two million copyright holders all over the world. It is one of the largest societies for authors of works of music worldwide. International Copyright Enterprise (ICE)
International Copyright Enterprise (ICE) was founded in 2015 by collection societies GEMA (Germany), PRS for Music (UK) and STIM (Sweden). It is the first licensing and processing hub for the pan-European music market. ICE combines the repertoires of the three collection societies involved and offers licensees the opportunity to obtain a unique, multi-territory licence. The joint venture’s work is aimed at digital service providers operating across Europe that are looking to obtain licensing rights, as well as publishers and other collection societies wanting to use either the full suite of services, including licensing, or individual back-office services. ICE has three divisions: ICE Licensing, ICE Operations and ICE Services.
