Showcases

• Who selects the events or the organisers for the showcases?

  The selection of events and organisers for GEMA showcase partnerships is carried out by the GEMA department responsible for GEMA Plus. The selection criteria include the event’s reach, its relevance to emerging artists as the target audience, and the organiser’s willingness to collaborate.  

  As a GEMA member, you can submit suggestions for suitable festivals and events by email to gemaplus@gema.de. The suggestions will be reviewed and, if deemed suitable, included in the planning of new showcase partnerships. The aim is to continuously expand performance opportunities for emerging artists amongst GEMA members. 

• Who chooses the winners?

  The winners will be selected by the respective event promoters. If it is a showcase at GEMA (such as the Long Night of Music), the winner will be selected via an internal vote by all GEMA staff members.

• Which genres are supported preferentially?

  There are no preferred genres. We contact promoters from the most diverse music genres.

• Do you check whether the applicants are GEMA members?

  Yes, we check this thoroughly. At least one performing band member must be a GEMA member.
