Can I also pay the membership fee by direct debit?

Yes, if you are a creator or a legal successor in GEMA, you can simply issue a SEPA direct debit mandate for your membership fees via the Online Portal. Your annual amount of EUR 50,00 will then be collected via your respective bank account and no longer offset against your royalties at the respective set date.

This service is currently not available yet for publishers but we are going to extend it accordingly.

Important note:

So that we can collect the membership fee for the next year, it is vital that you issue the SEPA mandate to us prior to 12 December of this calendar year, and exclusively via the portal under My details.

Please note:

The SEPA mandate does not apply for any existing negative balances but for membership fees of creators and legal successors from the 2025 membership fee onwards.

You have no authorisation to issue a SEPA mandate to GEMA if:

• you have no access to the Online Portal (information on how to register is here)
• you are a publisher
