How do I pay the membership fee? Will it be debited from my bank account?

From the second year onwards, the membership fee is automatically deducted from your royalties at the end of the year, provided you have not issued us with a SEPA direct debit mandate for the membership fee. You only need to pay the first membership fee, together with the admission fee, directly to GEMA. For music creators who are 30 years old or younger in the year of application, the admission fee is waived in full. If your royalties do not cover the annual membership fee, you must pay the difference by bank transfer at the end of the financial year. Royalties for uses in the current calendar year are not distributed until the following year and are therefore not yet available for offsetting the current year’s membership fee.

If you provide us with a SEPA direct debit mandate for the membership fee, we will instead automatically deduct the annual fee from your account at the end of the year.
