Where can I find information about the new tariff system or the new licensing scheme in the physical media sector (audio and audiovisual media)?

Since 1 January 2025, a new GEMA tariff system has been in force for (audio-visual) sound recordings, which simplifies the previous tariff structure and adapts it to current market conditions. The new licensing system distinguishes between different types of physical music products and provides appropriate tariffs for each. Manufacturers and distributors must apply for the necessary licences via the GEMA online portal before reproduction. Remuneration is based on the tariffs applicable to the relevant product.
