• When do you pay out royalties for my played and registered works?

  GEMA distributes royalties on fixed distribution dates, which are staggered throughout the year by sector. As a general rule, the revenue from the previous year is distributed, with the specific dates set out in the annual distribution schedule for the respective sector: Distribution dates and deadlines 

  Separate distribution dates apply to foreign revenue and online usage, which depend on the billing cycles of the foreign collecting societies or digital platforms.

  Requirements for a distribution and the receipt of royalties:

  • You are a GEMA member.
  • You have submitted your work declarations in time.
  • We also have to have notifications and reports from the music users, such as event organisers and broadcasters. 
• I have received a payment, but not an account statement yet. How can this be?

  It can be possible that the account statements are still on the way. These are usually only available a few days after the distribution. You can find a digital view of your account statements in the online portal under My financial data at  My financial details.
