I have received an invoice for live music. The music played at the event was, however, from sound recordings and streaming services. What can I do?
Please dispute the invoice on the GEMA online portal under ‘My Invoices’ and select ‘Incorrect tariff details’ as the reason. GEMA has recorded your event as a live music event and has therefore invoiced you in accordance with the live music tariffs. If music was in fact played from recorded media or streaming services, a different tariff applies. Unless you lodge a dispute, we will request a set list for live music, which you cannot submit if recorded music was used. The dispute will correct the tariff classification and result in a recalculation based on the applicable tariffs for music from recorded media.
