From 20 to 23 September, the Reeperbahn Festival took place in Hamburg, which is an important meeting point for the international and national music industry.

GEMA participated in the event with a colourful programme: Young talents inspired the audience at the showcases on the #GEMAStage. At panels and workshops, experts discussed topics around AI, copyright and rights exploitation.

Panels and the GEMA Masterclasses

It has been hotly debated for months: The new generation of generative artificial intelligence is challenging our society and especially our creative industries. We discussed this topic on our two panels at the Reeperbahn Festival 2023.

In addition, GEMA experts informed in a master class about developments in monitoring and new features in the GEMA online portal. Participants learned how GEMA works in principle and when membership is worthwhile in the workshop "GEMA for beginners".

Musikstreaming in Deutschland

Es gibt derzeit keine andere Form der Musiknutzung, die ähnlich hohe Wachstumsraten hat wie das Musikstreaming. Allein in Deutschland wurde im vergangenen Jahr ein Rekordwert erzielt. Für Musikschaffende bringt dieser Boom einige Herausforderungen mit sich. Die GEMA hat dieses Thema mit verschiedenen Expertinnen und Experten in zwei Panels auf dem Reeperbahnfestival diskutiert.

GEMA, VUT, Music Women* Germany, die MaLisa Stiftung und Keychange luden wieder ein zum Katzen- und Katerfrühstück für RBF22-Delegates und Artists, die das Musikbusiness nicht nur Männern vorbehalten wollen.
