By-election
The members of the election committee will be re-elected at the 2026 general meeting. If you would like to stand for election to the election committee yourself or propose another full member, please note the following information:
In the composers` personal discussion before the meeting of the associate members on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, the by-election of the delegate for the Rating Committee for the rating procedure of composers in the E category will take place: Their role is to participate in an advisory capacity in the meetings of the Rating Committee.
Said delegate thus differs from the delegates for the General Assembly. Delegates for the General Assembly may, however, also stand as candidate for this position.
Qualifying conditions
The candidate must have been an associate member of GEMA for a minimum of 5 years (professional category composers).
Candidates who cannot participate in the meeting in person may also be elected.

- Your first and last name
- Your GEMA membership number

Composition:
The election committee consists of one chairperson and one deputy member for each professional group.
Eligibility requirements:
The members of the election committee must be full members.
In order to ensure their neutrality, they may not be members of the supervisory board (including the committees and commissions formed from among its members) or any other body to be elected by the general meeting (appeals committee, attendance fee commission, works committee, evaluation committees for the evaluation procedures for composers and lyricists in category E and for the evaluation procedure for light music and dance music) and may not stand for election to these bodies during their term of office. For members of the professional group of publishers, this applies to all representatives and other employees of the publishing house.
Members of the Authors' and Publishers' Arbitration Board are also not eligible for election, as they may not be members of a body to be elected by the General Meeting.
Members of other committees appointed by the Supervisory Board but not drawn from its ranks (Admissions Committee, Evaluation Committee for the evaluation procedure for publishers in category E, boards of trustees of the GEMA Social Fund and the German Composers' Pension Fund) are, however, eligible for election.
Tasks and term of office:
The members of the election committee accept nominations for the election of the supervisory board and other committees to be elected by the general meeting in advance of the general meeting, check them for eligibility and conduct the elections in their professional group. The term of office of the election committee members is three years.
Submission of nominations
Ordinary members and delegates of extraordinary members may submit their nominations for the election of the election committee of their professional group by Tuesday, 10 March 2026, either

- by post to GEMA, Legal Department, Rosenheimer Straße 11, 81667 Munich.
Nominations that are not submitted by the deadline cannot be considered.

If you do not wish to stand as a candidate yourself but would like to propose another person, please contact them in good time before submitting the nomination to obtain their consent to stand as a candidate.
Wahlinformationen
Die Mitglieder des Wahlausschusses müssen ordentliche Mitglieder sein.
Um ihre Neutralität sicherzustellen, dürfen sie nicht dem Aufsichtsrat (einschließlich der aus seiner Mitte gebildeten Ausschüsse und Kommissionen) oder einem anderen von der Mitgliederversammlung zu wählenden Gremium (Beschwerdeausschuss, Sitzungsgeldkommission, Werkausschuss, Wertungsausschüsse für die Wertungsverfahren der Komponisten und der Textdichter in der Sparte E sowie für das Wertungsverfahren in der Unterhaltungs- und Tanzmusik) angehören und bei den Wahlen dieser Gremien während ihrer Amtszeit auch nicht kandidieren. Für Mitglieder der Berufsgruppe Verleger gilt dies in Bezug auf sämtliche Vertreter und sonstigen Mitarbeiter des Verlags.
Mitglieder der Urheber-Verleger-Schlichtungsstelle sind ebenfalls nicht wählbar, da diese nicht Mitglied eines von der Mitgliederversammlung zu wählenden Gremiums sein dürfen.
Mitglieder von sonstigen Gremien, die vom Aufsichtsrat ernannt, aber nicht aus seiner Mitte besetzt werden (Aufnahmeausschuss, Wertungsausschuss für das Wertungsverfahren der Verleger in der Sparte E, Kuratorien der GEMA-Sozialkasse sowie der Versorgungsstiftung der deutschen Komponisten) sind dagegen wählbar.
Ordentliche Mitglieder und Delegierte der außerordentlichen Mitglieder können ihre Wahlvorschläge für die Wahl des Wahlausschusses ihrer Berufsgruppe bis Dienstag,
den 10. März 2026 einreichen, und zwar
- als PDF per E-Mail an wahlen.mitgliederversammlung@gema.de oder
- per Post bei der GEMA, Rechtsabteilung, Rosenheimer Straße 11, 81667 München.
Wahlvorschläge, die nicht fristgerecht eingereicht werden, können leider nicht berücksichtigt werden.
Bitte verwende für die Einreichung das Formular „Einreichung von Wahlvorschlägen für die GEMA Mitgliederversammlung“. Dieses findest du hier.
Bitte beachte dabei die oben genannten Wählbarkeitsvoraussetzungen.
Sofern Du nicht selbst kandidieren, sondern eine andere Person vorschlagen möchtest, bitten wir, Dich rechtzeitig vor der Einreichung des Wahlvorschlags mit dieser in Verbindung zu setzen, um deren Einverständnis mit der Kandidatur einzuholen.
