Our distribution for 1 June 2026

Live and reproduction
GEMA looks back on another record year in 2025 – and for our members, one thing is clear: GEMA’s long-term strategy is paying off. Despite a challenging market environment, the live and reproduction segment continued to grow. Distributions are being strengthened in several respects: through a higher overall payout, even stronger market alignment with around 545,000 setlists taken into account, a reduced commission rate and significantly increasing point values in the live segment. Our members benefit from all of this.
While large-scale events declined in licensing volume and the one-off effect of the previous year’s UEFA European Championship fell away, smaller and medium-sized event formats developed positively and were largely able to offset these declines.
As a result, as of 1 June 2026, we are distributing around €187.5 million to our members and sister societies in the live and background music categories. This represents an increase of 9.6 % compared to the previous year’s distribution total and therefore constitutes a very strong result for the 2025 financial year. Further information about the live performance and public playback categories is available here.
